Tether Operations Limited, a leading entity in the digital asset industry, has announced a strategic collaboration with Reku, a prominent crypto exchange platform in Indonesia, to enhance the understanding of crypto assets and blockchain technology among Indonesians. According to tether.io, the initiative will be executed through a comprehensive roadshow spanning ten major cities across the country.

Scope and Schedule of the Roadshow

The educational roadshow is set to commence in September 2024 and will continue until March 2025. It will cover key cities including Bali, Medan, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Malang, Padang, Palembang, Pekanbaru, and Balikpapan, culminating in a grand finale in Jakarta. The primary objective is to conduct activities that raise awareness about the benefits of blockchain, crypto assets, and peer-to-peer technologies, thereby equipping Indonesians with the knowledge required to make informed decisions regarding digital assets.

Reku's Role and Background

Founded in 2018, Reku has established itself as a leading crypto asset exchange in Indonesia. The platform enables users to invest in, buy, and sell crypto assets while providing regulated access to these digital financial instruments. Reku also assists Indonesians in navigating the evolving cryptocurrency landscape by offering educational resources and support.

Indonesia's Growing Crypto Adoption

According to a report by Chainalysis, Indonesia ranked 7th among 146 nations in terms of cryptocurrency adoption in 2023. The country saw a significant surge in crypto transactions, amounting to 211 trillion Indonesian Rupiah (approximately US$13 billion) in May. Additionally, the number of registered crypto investors saw substantial growth, reaching 20.16 million by April this year. These figures underscore Indonesia’s rising prominence as a hub for crypto activities.

Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, commented on the collaboration, stating, “Reku and Tether share a common vision of advancing crypto literacy, ensuring that individuals can make well-informed financial decisions in the rapidly changing digital landscape. We are excited to collaborate with Reku to combine our expertise and collectively promote knowledge and education on crypto assets and blockchain technology across Indonesia.”

Jesse Choi, co-CEO of Reku, also expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, saying, “Reku aims to reach and educate thousands of participants through the literacy series with Tether during the educational roadshow in ten major cities.
