Immutable (IMX)'s Record-Breaking Growth and Strategic Partnerships in June 2024
Immutable (IMX), a prominent player in the blockchain gaming sector, announced record-breaking growth and several strategic partnerships in June 2024. According to Immutable, one of the most notable developments is the migration of NetMarble’s MARBLEX platform to Immutable, bringing along key IP titles such as Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, A3: Still Alive, and Meta World. This move is seen as a significant step forward for the web3 gaming industry.
MARBLEX Chooses Immutable for Web3 Gaming in South Korea
NetMarble, a leading mobile gaming company with a market cap of USD 3 billion, has chosen Immutable's zkEVM platform for its MARBLEX gaming platform and three live titles. These titles include:
- Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds: An MMORPG that blends the real and fantasy worlds with stunning 3D graphics.
- A3: Still Alive: A dark fantasy open-world RPG that combines RPG elements with Battle Royale combat.
- Meta World: My City, a sequel to the popular Let’s Get Rich game, featuring board game mechanics and virtual land ownership in the metaverse.
These games together boast over 1 million monthly active users and have generated over $80 million in revenue in 2024 alone.
In addition to the migration, Immutable and MARBLEX have launched the “Ecosystem Boost Program” to provide developers with technical and financial support, with up to USD 20 million earmarked for the initiative.
New Games Building on Immutable
Immutable has seen tremendous growth, signing over 150 new games in the first half of 2024, surpassing the total number of games signed in 2023. This brings the total to more than 380 well-funded games on the platform.
Some of the latest additions include:
- The Mystery Society: A social deduction game by ex-Disney and ex-ClubPenguin veterans.
- Ships That Fight Underground: Developed by Little Orbit, known for working with major licensors like Warner Brothers and Disney.
- Baby Shark Universe: An official IP game launching exclusively on Immutable.
- Devomon: An anime-themed mobile game with over $3.5 million in funding.
- Somnis Rumble Rush: Developed by a former EA GM, known for FIFA Online.
- Revolve Games: Featuring Bones and Blade, now in Open Beta.
Hockey-Stick Growth for Immutable zkEVM
Immutable zkEVM, launched earlier this year, has already seen a surge in monthly active users, nearing 2 million. This growth is attributed to the initial 1% of Immutable’s game pipeline and the Main Quest rewards program, the largest of its kind in web3 gaming.
Immutable Passport wallet signups have also surged, reaching nearly 1.5 million from 1 million just last month.
$IMX Protocol Grants Updates
Immutable continues to support developers through its $IMX Protocol Grants program. These grants are aimed at developers who bring significant volume to the Immutable platform, with tokens granted upon achieving volume milestones. This program aligns long-term incentives for developers and Immutable.
$IMX for Protocol Grants is issued by a subsidiary of the Digital Worlds Foundation. Immutable is not the issuer of $IMX. Immutable holds ~25% of the $IMX tokens issued by the Foundation.
The Best is Yet to Come
As Immutable continues its rapid growth, the company is poised to disrupt the $200 billion gaming industry. With record-breaking adoption rates, groundbreaking partnerships, and a thriving developer community, Immutable is building the future of web3 gaming.
