BNB Chain Extends Zero-Fee Stablecoin Transfers to March 31
BNB Chain has extended its zero-fee stablecoin promotion through March 31, 2026, continuing a campaign that has already covered more than $4.5 million in user gas costs since launch.
The extension covers USDC, USD1, and U tokens across withdrawals, wallet transfers, and cross-chain bridging on both BNB Smart Chain and opBNB.
What's Actually Covered
The program spans three main use cases, each with different terms depending on the asset.
For exchange withdrawals, Binance, Bitget, MEXC, Bitmart, Ourbit, BingX, LBank, and HTX are participating. Most require minimum withdrawals between $5 and $20. HTX stands out by offering permanent zero-fee USD1 withdrawals with no end date.
Wallet-to-wallet transfers work through 13 supported wallets including Binance Wallet, Trust Wallet, and SafePal. USD1 and U get unlimited free transfers, while USDC is capped at two per day. Minimum transfer amount sits at just $0.10.
Cross-chain bridging runs through Celer cBridge and Meson.fi, covering USDC transfers from Ethereum, Arbitrum, Polygon, Avalanche, Optimism, and Tron into BNB Chain at zero cost.
Why BNB Chain Keeps Pushing This
The network claims roughly 40% of all stablecoin transaction volume, making fee subsidies a strategic play to maintain that position. The promotion has been running since late 2025, with previous extensions in November and January.
USD1, which launched in March 2025 with backing from U.S. Treasury bills, receives the most favorable treatment. The token was designed with zero fees for minting and redemption as a core feature, and this promotion extends that philosophy to transfers.
USDC currently trades at $0.999988 with a market cap of $1.29 billion on BNB Chain.
What Traders Should Know
If you're moving stablecoins regularly, the math is straightforward: route through BNB Chain until March 31 and pocket the gas savings. The two-transfer daily limit on USDC matters for active traders, but USD1 and U face no such restrictions.
The program's repeated extensions—this is at least the third—suggest BNB Chain views fee subsidies as worth the cost to maintain stablecoin dominance. Whether that continues past March depends on competitive pressure from other L1s and L2s chasing the same volume.
