NVIDIA Joins U.S. Government's Global AI Inclusivity Initiative
NVIDIA has announced its participation in the U.S. government’s Partnership for Global Inclusivity on AI (PGIAI), an initiative aimed at leveraging artificial intelligence to promote sustainable development globally, according to NVIDIA Blog.
Partnership Announcement at U.N. General Assembly
The announcement was made by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken at the U.N. General Assembly in New York. The PGIAI seeks to harness AI's potential to foster sustainable development and improve living conditions in developing countries.
NVIDIA’s Contributions to PGIAI
NVIDIA will contribute to the initiative by providing Deep Learning Institute training, GPU credits, and hardware and software grants. The company has committed approximately $10 million in free training to universities and developers to support local AI solutions and development goals.
Collaborative Efforts with Major Tech Companies
Alongside NVIDIA, other tech giants such as Amazon, Anthropic, Apple, Google, IBM, Meta, Microsoft, and OpenAI have joined the PGIAI. These companies have pledged to offer training, computational resources, and other AI tools to drive sustainable development in emerging economies.
Focus on Equitable AI Development
The PGIAI underscores the necessity of equitable AI, emphasizing a deep understanding and respect for the diverse cultures, languages, and traditions of the communities served. The initiative aims to enhance access to AI models, APIs, compute credits, and technical training, alongside local datasets.
NVIDIA’s Inception Program
NVIDIA’s global Inception program supports nearly 5,000 start-ups in emerging economies. The program offers technical expertise, go-to-market support, hardware and software discounts, and access to free cloud computing credits through NVIDIA partners. In 2024 alone, the Inception program provided over $60 million in free cloud compute credits to start-ups in these regions.
