Overall Rating: A-
1) Theme of the Blockchain Event
The theme of the event is to examine the 10 pillars of token economy. We think that speakers from the HKSFC, Standard Chartered, KPMG, AON, King & Wood Mallesons etc provided high quality keynotes and panel discussion! We find the panel of “What’s next for Virtual Banking in Hong Kong?” very interesting, as the panelists presents insightful statistics and key challenges for virtual banks going forward! Among the ten pillars, we think that most of them are covered properly except for media.
2) Scale of Event
There are around 200 participants in this event. As there is no free admission for general public, we observe that most participants come from venture capital, traditional financial giants and blockchain-related companies. The intent of the event is catered for professionals and we believe the audience there matched with the intent.
3) Amount of Promotional Content
In examining different pillars of token economy, the keynote speakers presented their own perspectives in the relevant field clearly, e.g. Clara Chiu in regulation, Murray Wood in insurance. There’s only a few promotional content in the event which we think the keynotes and panel discussion are of professional quality.
4) Event Location, Transportation and Logistics Arrangement
It is held in the St Regis hotel in Wan Chai, which is only a few minutes walk from Wan Chai MTR station. The catering arrangement is decent as buffet lunch is served for VIP ticket holders. The event ended with 15-20 minutes delay, yet it is still acceptable in general.
