The global consulting firm Accenture is now partners with Generali Employee Benefits (GEB) under the Generali Group to provide a blockchain based solution for employee benefits, according to the press release published on 16 April.

The blockchain solution aims to simplify the existing operation process for the Group’s product offerings such as accident, disability, life and healthcare insurance. It also allows data sharing between parties involved in the reinsurance process and the use of smart contracts enables automated reconciliation for captive and pooling services.

Sergio Di Caro, GEB’s Chief Executive Officer, said “This prototype represents a step forward for GEB and for the insurance industry. The use of blockchain technology allows for a truly connected ecosystem and a seamless partnership between clients, advisers, local insurers and Generali. Blockchain will change not only our Network but the employee benefits industry as we know it.”
