"CoinJoin: Bitcoin Privacy for the Real World"

By Henry Chan   May 25, 2019 1 Min Read

CoinJoin: Bitcoin privacy for the real world discusses the pros and cons for Bitcoin for real-world applications. It also discusses the technical aspect of Bitcoin and how it can affect privacy in real-world use cases.

Compared to the existing fiat currencies, Bitcoin is often considered to be the tool for privacy. However, the privacy of Bitcoin comes from pseudonymous addresses, and these are fragile and can be compromised easily through reuse, “taint” analysis, IP address monitoring nodes, tracking payments, etc. When privacy is breached, it is difficult and can be costly to recover.
