Italy Blocks OpenAI ChatGPT Over Data Breach Concerns
Italy’s data protection agency has temporarily blocked OpenAI’s ChatGPT due to suspected data privacy breaches following a recent data breach on March 20. The agency also cited concerns over the lack of information for users regarding data collected by OpenAI and the lack of legal basis for mass data collection by the AI platform. In addition, ChatGPT's potential breach of its own data protection rules and the risk to minors who may be exposed to unsuitable content were also highlighted. The Center for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Policy has filed a complaint against ChatGPT, describing it as "biased" and "deceptive" and a risk to public safety and privacy.
